Radial / Steerable Trucks or Sideframe Kits for your N scale Kato

Envisiontec Perfactory rapid prototyping machine.

Radial / Steerable Sideframe Kit,
undecorated, for Kato AC4400CW trucks
Disassemble the existing Kato trucks, according to the manufacturer's
guidelines. File down both truck sides by hand or with a tool (pic.1)
(always wear eye protection) until you get a flat surface (pic.2) with
a thickness of 0.8 mm/ 0.032 inches. (pic.3/3a) Then cut off all the
parts untill your truck looks like the one on picture 4 (use the steerable
sideframe part as a guide and you are on the right way) mount the truck
back on the gear assembly (pic.5), use the wheels as a guide where to
glue the steerable sideframes on. (I recommend you build a jig if you
have to convert more than two engines).
Attach the steve4painting exclusive radial / steerable truck sides
to the prepared Kato trucks (pic.1-5) with strong, gap filling AC glue.
Watch for the right direction of the sideframes.
Disassemble the trucks again after the glue is completely dried.
The trucks can now be painted with acrylic or solvent based paint but
they should be primed first. Use prototype pictures for the accurate color.
Assemble the trucks according to Kato's instructions.
Important information: This procedure cannot be reversed.
Contains small parts. Not suitable for children under 12 years.
Those are very fragile parts and can break easy, handle with care.
